For e-commerce product cutouts, transparent PNG is the safest choice for consistent display. WebP supports transparency and can be smaller, but ensure your platform and CDN fully support WebP.
Workflow: remove background to transparent, save as PNG for marketplaces, additionally keep a WebP version for your storefront where supported.
